The European Commission has published the average CBAM certificate price for Q2 2026, which amounts to 75,28 EUR. For importers of CBAM goods, this information is important for planning future financial obligations. The final CBAM cost is calculated based on the number of CBAM certificates required and their price. The number of CBAM certificates an importer will need to purchase depends on the quantity of imported goods, embedded emissions, the reduction in emissions due to free allocation under the EU ETS, and any carbon price already paid in a third country.

Although CBAM certificates for 2026 obligations will only be available for purchase after 1 February 2027, the published CBAM certificate price already allows companies to better estimate their future costs and prepare for their CBAM obligations in time.
